Practical and Social Evening
​'A Feast of Foliage'

Our meeting on 6th July was advertised as “a fun, social and practical evening where we can all enjoy A Feast of Foliage” and those members and visitors who came along certainly enjoyed an evening with a difference!

As the title suggests there were very few flowers but members created lovely arrangements using only foliage mainly from their own gardens; spheres of floral foam were covered with attractive leaves to make very unusual decorations; phormium leaves were manipulated and woven into amazing shapes; aspidistra leaves were twisted to form containers for a few flowers; and unusual origami flowers were created out of small squares of paper.  We are very fortunate to have a number of members who have the knowledge to demonstrate such difficult skills.

Despite all the above activities requiring great concentration and very nimble fingers there was much socialising and laughter during the evening.

Our Club does not meet in August so after the summer break our next meeting is on 7th September at Clophill Village Hall at 7.30pm when we will welcome back Rehka Naidoo to demonstrate “A Floral Fairground”.   Visitors are always welcome £5.  Make a note of the date and come and join us!
